Also known as the YO Ibex.  Cross with Persian Ibex and a domestic nanny goats.  Originates in Texas.

Sturdy tan-to-brown goat with tall, curved horns in males.  Long beard likely in males.  Males develop dark neck collar that crosses dark dorsal stripe.  Become lighter and grayer in winter.  A few individuals are white.  Male horns curve up from massive bases and tend to hook at the top.  Sharp frint keel wit series of bead-like knobs.  Horns often 25-28" and more.  Large horns 31-35" with basal circumference 9-10".  Most females have thin, short horns, typically 4-8".  Male weight about 150-200 lbs; female about 65-100 lbs.

Food Habits - Browser.  Take leaves, twigs, and small branches.  Willing to stand upright against tree trunks to reach browse.  Eat forbs when available.  Include some grass.

Habitat - Steep, rocky hillsides with thick brush.  Use heavy cover of juniper or scrub oaks.

Water and climate - Drink daily during hot seasons, then every 2-3 days in cool weather.  Have undercoat against cold.  Moderate heat with shade.

Males have strong odor.
